Travel Award: Graduate Conference

C&A graduate student AAA conference travel award

The Culture and Agriculture section of the American Anthropological Association (AAA) is pleased to announce that it will make up to four awards of $1,000 for graduate students currently enrolled in a Master’s or Doctoral program to travel to the AAA conference in New Orleans this November. Membership in AAA and C&A is required for the disbursement of award. Preference will be given to applicants with an active role in the AAA and who are presenting original research. Students enrolled in graduate programs at Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Tribal Colleges and Universities, and Hispanic Serving Institutions are strongly encouraged to apply.

All applications must be received by the official September 1, 2025 deadline. Please include the abstract of the presentation that was accepted by AAA, a C.V. (two pages maximum), the name and contact information of your graduate advisor, and a biographical statement (300 words maximum) explaining how your conference participation will assist your scholarship and professional development. All applications must be focused on the intersection of culture, agriculture, food, and the environment.
